Since 2015 Fuzu has provided career development services for job seekers in emerging markets and recruitment services for thousands of local and global organisations. Fuzu platform has supported more than 15 million people in getting access to career guidance and support. Fuzu hosts a talent pool of over 2 million professionals, which forms the foundation for the Fuzu Global Workforce solution.

Where is Fuzu Ltd incorporated?

Fuzu Ltd is incorporated in Finland (Business ID: 2546225-2). Fuzu has two subsidiaries, one in Mauritius and one in Nigeria. Under the Mauritian entity we have a branch in Kenya.

How many team members does Fuzu have?

Fuzu currently has about 50 employees in five countries (Finland, Ukraine, Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria). This number does not include professionals hired on behalf of Fuzu’s clients. Fuzu team consists of professionals who have worked for organizations such as Microsoft, Nokia, IBM, Accenture, World Bank and the United Nations and built digital solutions for hundreds of millions of people.

Who owns Fuzu Ltd?

Fuzu ownership consists of Fuzu’s internal team members and investors such as Sparkmind.vc, Finnfund, Aucfan, Seedstars Ventures and Cornerstone Enterprises.

What is Fuzu Global Workforce?

Fuzu Global Workforce is Fuzu’s business line where we connect pre-validated and tested talent from our vast talent base to employers in Europe and the US. Fuzu team has supported thousands of employers in finding talent and understands deeply the challenges of employers both in mature and emerging markets.

How do we source and validate talent?

Why emerging market talent from Africa?

Several reasons: skills, ambition, same time zone and culture fit. Many global enterprises have woken up to Africa as a source of great talent, including Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Facebook, IBM and many others.

Where is Fuzu talent located / coming from?

Fuzu has a talent pool of 2 million people who come from different parts of the world. Currently, about 90% of talent come from Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria, but the talent pool includes also professionals from countries like India and Pakistan. Fuzu talent pool grows every month by about 50,000 people and we constantly seek ways to increase diversity and depth of talent in our database.

How do we validate our talent?

All remote talent are validated through a rigorous multi-phased testing process where candidates are taken through soft and hard skills assessments and personality profiling to assess culture fit. The process is managed by a team of talent validation experts and takes between 10 and 15 days.

How long does it take to find the right professional?

The turnaround time can be as fast as 48 hours if the needed talent is from one of Fuzu’s pre-validated talent pools, there are no out of the ordinary skill requirements and the target work experience level is 2-3 years. Sourcing for unusual skills, higher specialisation and seniority may take longer.

Do clients pay Fuzu to find remote talent?

No, employers do not pay Fuzu for finding remote professionals. The payments start only after contracting Fuzu and the talent. The monthly fee includes all costs related to hiring and accessing Fuzu services.

Do candidates pay Fuzu to get employed?

No, applying for work is free of charge and Fuzu does not charge candidates for applying for work. Fuzu sells various value-adding-services to job seekers, including online or in-person courses and coaching services, which are paid for but 100% voluntary.

Is it ethical to hire talent from Africa and other emerging regions?

Absolutely, the current job market does not provide enough employment opportunities locally, so talent is looking for opportunities globally. Remote work opportunities provide a chance to learn and build skills and to generate much needed forex based income into the local economy.

Is the business model abusing emerging market talent?

No, Fuzu upholds the highest ethical standards in its operations and hires talent from countries where the job market is protected by adequate regulations and employee protection. Fuzu is an impact business where one of the critical drivers behind our operating model is the social impact we generate in the world around us. In case of migration based on-site talent, the employees are protected by the same laws as the local population in Finland.

How does the contracting of talent work?

What does outstaffing mean?

Oustaffing is a form of outsourcing where the remote talent is hired to work directly with you and your organization. You are in charge of providing the talent with day-to-day guidance and leadership. Fuzu supports with the onboarding and performance monitoring.

What does the 20% discount mean?

You will get a 20% discount from the first two monthly full time fees.

How long is the minimum commitment?

Today, we serve clients who are ready to commit to talent for a minimum of 3 months. If the talent does not meet your expectations, we will conduct new search and replace the talent fast and efficiently.

Can one contract part-time talent?

Yes, we server part time needs as well. Let our sales team know of your needs and we will search for talent that matches your requirements. The minimum weekly workload is 3 days.

Is there a deposit?

Yes, at the start of the contracting period all clients need to make a deposit equal to one month’s service fee for every outstaffed professional.

What add-on services does Fuzu provide?

The add-on services, which are billed to the client on monthly basis, may include services such as: office space, hot desk, Internet stipend, phone connection or laptop. Please ask for a full list of add-on services from the business development representative.

Who is contracting the talent?

Fuzu employs the talent on behalf of its clients and ensures that local laws and regulations are complied with. Fuzu handles payroll and ensures taxes and other employer obligations are handled by the book. You do not need to have a local entity to engage with Fuzu.

What are the conditions for termination?

The termination period for talent depends on the modality of hiring (consultancy or employment contract) and how long the talent has been working with you. With consultancy contracts the typical termination period is 30 days (may also be shorter) and with employment contracts 15-60 days, depending on when the termination takes place (during probation period or after confirmation).

What if I am unhappy with talent?

It is of utmost importance that you and your organization are happy with the talent you have hired. You can make changes to the team setup at any point. The time it takes to make changes to the team composition is typically 30 days, depending on the role in question and how long the talent has been working with you. You should let your account manager know immediately as you have doubts about the team members you are working with. Our account management team will review the situation and come up with a proposal for action plan.

Can I move the talent to my own payroll?

Yes, you can hire the talent directly. The cost of transitioning the talent to your own payroll is equivalent to 2x full time monthly fee of the talent you are working with.
